Reporting to the Category Manager, this role will manage a portfolio of contracts including business stakeholder engagement ensuring the effective delivery of all procurement, contract management services and reporting requirements applicable to being a high performing Category Specialist. You will also develop and implement category management plans for applicable goods and services. Key responsibilities include:
Develop and implement category management plans for applicable mining equipment and processing related goods and services
Work within a broader category team to effectively deliver value through sourcing and contract management
Support the management of key strategic supplier relationships
Lead negotiation of contracts and variations
Support, communicate and contribute to Supply Chain group initiatives with the stakeholder groups
To be successful for this role, you will have the following:
Substantial experience in procurement and contract management roles within mining or similar industries
Effective written skills (e.g. drafting concise award recommendations, drafting contract conditions, drafting contract correspondence and variations)
Relevant experience working in teams to deliver supply chain objectives in cost and time sensitive environments
Experience in electronic sourcing and contract management platforms
Post graduate qualification in leadership/management, Supply Chain/Procurement will be highly desirable
Strong influencing and negotiation skills with excellent communication skills
Strong self-management/performance capabilities, organisational skills and priority management
Flexibility and creativity ability to adopt new methods and processes to deliver outcomes and challenge existing paradigms
Able to commence immediately and available full time for at least the first three months of the contract engagement
