About the Role
Working with one of Queensland's employer of choice, this government department is undergoing a period of growth and requiring the needs of an experienced Procurement Officer. You will be responsible for providing procurement and contract activities across the Commission and undertake a range of Administration and Facility Management services. It will provide operational assistance and support to the Principal Procurement Officer. Your key duties in this role will include but not limited to:
Manage the tender and procurement processes across the Commission including providing advice, preparation of associated documents such as project plans, expressions of interest, analysis, invitations to offer and participating on all tender panels.
Assist with the coordination of on-site maintenance, cleaning and operations administration of the facility, including buildings, grounds, plant and equipment. This includes procuring and overseeing suppliers of products and services to the Commission in general and supervising and training operational staff.
Undertake reporting as required to senior management, internal staff and externally to the other Government entities. This also includes any reporting required under the Queensland Procurement Policy.
Review and maintain policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current Government and industry standards.
Develop and deliver a training program to ensure all employees and contractors are aware of their responsibilities around procurement.
Provide advice and support in the application of policies and procedures.
Create and maintain a resource facility for procurement related documentation.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
Minimum 3+ years experience in procurement administration, within a government procurement/administrative environment
Strong ability to contribute to and work within a team environment
Well developed communication skills both verbal and written, coupled with the ability to provide advice with a customer service orientation
Strong ability to prioritize workload and work towards conflicting deadlines
This is an AO4 position. This contract is for an immediate start until October 2016, with a possible view to extension.
