Capturing Pregnancy, newborns, children, pets and families.

I am a portrait photographer who has been in the industry for over 10 years.

I specialize in photographing pregnancies, newborns, children, families and their pets.

SESSION INFORMATION

PREGNANCY

Pregnancy sessions are most beautifully captured outdoors at last light. Your partner and other children can be incorporated into your session.

This session usually takes 1 – 2 hours.

Most women are photographed around the 34-38 week mark, however you can do them anytime from 30 weeks.

What to bring

A few changes of clothes. Something fitted to show off the belly. If we choose a beach location, sarongs and swimwear work well.
A cropped top or bra to wear with a skirt will expose the belly nicely if you wish to.
For beach locations, pack a beach towel.

NEWBORN

Sweet, sleepy newborn images are best captured within the first 4 weeks. At this time they are more easily settled, sleepy and the tiniest they will ever be!

These sessions generally take 2-4 hours and are done in your home.

Bookings are best made after your 20 week scan, to ensure I have you in my schedule. Babies can arrive at the most unexpected of times, so your appointment can be adjusted for the early or late arrival. It is for this reason I can only take on so many newborns at a time. So be sure to let me know so we can make sure we capture this amazing time.

How to prepare for your session

Some cloths/rags for spills and ‘accidents’

Throw rugs and/or sheepskins. I will bring some too, but it's nice to have a personal touch if you have something that works well. (neutral colors work best)
Wraps. Sometimes they just want to be wrapped up snug. Again, neutral is best.
Bathtowels, just a few for posing. You won't see them in the photographs, so any color will do.

Make up your bed and declutter beside tables etc. Have your room 'photo ready' as the master bedroom usually has great light and beds make a great soft place to photograph little bugs.

During the cooler months, it is so important the room is toasty warm. So please get the heater going before my arrival to ensure a cosy, happy baby!
For the feed before I arrive, take baby down to just a nappy then wrap accordingly. This means we won't have to undress them right before we start, hopefully keeping them calm and sleepy.

CHILD / FAMILY

Babies, toddlers and children of all ages. Any age and stage is worth photographing. Whilst milestones are beautiful to capture, so is everything in between. So if you are wondering when is the best time to book a session, its now! So much fun and can be done at your home or on location. Parks and beaches provide a beautiful, relaxed backdrop for your family.

These sessions are usually 1 – 2 hours.

What to bring

A few changes of clothes. Neutral colors work best. Whites, taupes, creams, greys, pinks and blues. Avoid logos and writing on clothing. Simple is best. Patterns are fine, but more for individual photographs.

For family photographs, it's best not to match too perfectly. Create some interest with textures and different soft colors that compliment rather than match. Headover to the family gallery for some more inspiration.
