Youth and Young Families Pastor

Asquith Church of Christ, NSW, is seeking to appoint a Christian Leader to the part-time role of Youth and Young Families Pastor. The position is the equivalent of 2 days paid employment, with a measure of flexibility regarding work time.
This position includes the following tasks in the area of Youth:
The oversight of Church-based youth programs and events
Facilitating growth of the youth ministry through strategic outreach
Discipling and mentoring of youth in the Church’s care
Building rapport with the parents
Facilitation of leadership development and equipping of youth
Program-wise this involves running Friday night youth group for Year 6 and up, seeking to develop it into a vibrant, growing opportunity for evangelism, discipleship and outreach.
On Sundays it involves responsibility for our Year 5 and up Bible Study group, which meets for approximately 45 minutes on Sunday mornings during the second part of the main worship service.
The Young Families Ministry is a pioneer position. It involves the establishment and direction of a Young Families Ministry, in order to facilitate spiritual growth, parenting skills, connectedness, friendships, and outreach opportunities to other young families.
Depending on giftedness, opportunities for service in worship, music and preaching are available.
Requirements
The person we are looking for will be a keen Christian with a strong commitment to God, His Word and the Gospel. The successful applicant will posses appropriate experience and qualifications, good people and communication skills, leadership abilities and a passion for reaching and discipling youth for Jesus Christ and for ministering to young families.
He or she must either currently comply with Churches of Christ ministry endorsement, or be willing to gain endorsement. The position requires current Working With Children clearance. The successful applicant will be a permanent resident of Australia, will become a member of Asquith Church of Christ and will report to the Senior Pastor.
Although priority will be given to filling this two day position, there is a possibility of separating the responsibilities of Youth Ministry and Young Families Ministry into two distinct positions. As such, each would be the equivalent of one day’s paid employment, so expressions of interest for either position are also invited.
