Work type: 12 month contract - Part time 24 hours per week. (Negotiable daily hours). Remuneration: Negotiable
The Organisation: The Banana Shire Emergency Accommodation & Support Centre Inc. is a non-profit community organisation committed to making a difference in the local community by the provision of a range of services to people experiencing difficulty.
The Centre delivers Legal Services, Homelessness Services, Domestic Violence Counselling, Domestic Violence Court Support, No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) and emergency financial relief. We require a Solicitor to work closely with staff of the Banana Sire Support Centre and support agencies in the area. The Solicitor will provide clients with legal advice and ongoing casework. The Solicitor will also deliver quality legal education across a range of subjects. Applicants must be admitted or eligible for immediate admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland, and be eligible for a current practicing certificate in Queensland.
