My client is a market leader with an excellent reputation in their field. Continued growth & an ever increasing demand for their products/services means that they are consistently growing & taking on increasingly complex & challenging projects. This is impacting the organisational structure as they look to add more specialists/SME's to the business in the arena of Software Development. Because of this they are now looking for a technically proficient Software Test Analyst (Automation) to join their team. The role is based in Albury, NSW/VIC border and is a permanent role.
I am looking for candidates with a technical degree (ideally but not essential eg Computer Science, Business Systems, Econometrics etc) & solid commercial experience in the Automation Testing arena. Pure manual testers will not be considered for the role. You will be working closely with a well established development team and Project Managers and Analyst's so as the primary tester in the group you will need solid (ie daily) experience as a Software Tester, using open source automation tools (i.e. Selenium, JMeter, WebLoad etc) so technical proficiency is essential (from a test perspective) with scripting skills using Python being ideal but Javascript, Perl Scripting, Korn Shell Scripting etc also being considered. You will be involved in front-end software so the need for strong server side/database skills etc is less important.
Aside of technical skills & proficiency, your softer skills are paramount, the ability to build effective relationships both internally with the Development Team, PM's, Senior Management etc as well as externally (3rd party vendors, integrators, clients etc) is crucial as is the ability to work effectively under pressure, have a real passion for testing & QA (you will have the chance to influence strategy, tool selection etc relating to your space in the fullness of time) & have the ability to maintain first class attention to detail on projects that may run for 18m+ & are characterised by large, complex specs. So first class organisational skills & the ability to communicate effectively (both in terms of time and clarity) is essential. Discernment and judgement skills are critical.

Being responsible for the test cycle end 2 end you will be involved in a plethora of areas such as testing interfaces, automation, performance testing, load testing, security testing etc as well as getting involved in complex systems, integration and UAT. Candidates must be Australian Citizens and have a current drivers licence.
