Independent Schools Queensland has an exciting position on offer within the School Services division of the organisation. This position will be responsible for delivering services, advice, resources, and professional development to support independent school governance, management and operations.
The successful Candidate will be engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including school Principals, senior government and industry personnel, media, educators, and parents. The School Services Officer will reflect the professional and integral image of this reputable not for profit organisation to members and key stakeholders.
Specific duties of this position include:
Provide support and guidance to member schools in improving transparency and accountability in school compliance, policy development, record keeping, data quality, business administration and public accountability
Empower and support school leaders in implementing relevant national standards and frameworks to evaluate and improve school performance, planning and ongoing monitoring
Build capacity within member schools targeted to the areas of school finance, management and administration across the operational and business aspects of independent schools
Deliver services, advice, resources, and professional development through e-learning modules, webinars, face to face training, newsletters and other various avenues
Maintain and procure constructive relationships with external stakeholders such as Commonwealth and State education departments, regulatory bodies, and other associations as such
Prepare and coordinate resources and written responses to proposed legislative or regulatory changes and apply it to independent schools
The successful Candidate will possess:
Substantial experience in fields such as law, business administration, policy development and/or governance. *Tertiary qualifications in these fields are highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
Project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Member services approach
Professional and polished presentation
Ability to work effectively in a team situation
Demonstrated experience in interpreting legislation and drafting policies and implementing legislation to specific contexts
A passion and intrinsic drive to meet the requirements of this role through personal and professional development
