This position entails working in a niche plant based environment. Dolly's Sister is the the first fully vegan cafe in Geelong and has become a hub for social justice groups, vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike. Its a happy, thriving, proactive place where we place much empasis on education and on being inclusive of people from all walks of life.
The position is available now and offers some transitional training for the month of March by our current Chef (who is sadly leaving us to go overseas).
The position includes the following duties:
Must have understanding of vegan values and ethos and be respectful of these values at all times
Must be qualified Chef with qualification that is recognised in Australia
Must have excellent communication skills (must speak English fluently)
Must have proven skill sets around costing menu's/recipes - time management - stock control and rotation - understanding of OH&S measures in kitchen and for all kitchen staff - rostering of kitchen staff (with wage management a priority)
Menu creation and updating of specials board regularly
Being a fun team player at Cooking class events and Social Justice events
Should have catering experience and costing of such
