To facilitate Community Gateway Social & Skill Development Activities for the Program Development Team
Duties
1. Provide flexible direct support to those who attend Community Gateway social events and programs
2. Represent Community Gateway in a professional manner applying person centered practices to all interactions
3. Facilitate opportunities for incidental learning and skill development
4. Participate in regular training and team meetings to maintain competencies and ensure consistency of approach to problem-solving and other skills.
5. Ensure necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner.

Community Gateway is a not-for-profit community organisation providing case management and innovative solutions to assist people with a disability and older people to remain in their own homes and establish an enjoyable lifestyle of their choice. We have two community hubs, at Wollongong and at Nowra, where we also run fun activities and programs that facilitate social interaction between all members of the local communities who wish to participate.

Qualifications:
Certificate III Disabilities or Home and Community Care, Aged Care or other relevant community service qualification
Essential Selection Criteria:
1. Understanding of, and commitment to, person-centered practices
2. Certificate III Disabilities or Home and Community Care, Aged Care or other relevant community service qualification
3. Effective communication skills
4. Experience engaging with others to facilitate interaction and connectedness in a group setting
5. Able to manage own time effectively, follow program plans and organise others within a group
6. Ability to follow policies and procedures, implement quality processes and gather feedback
7. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to work health and safety requirements.
8. Current First Aid Certificate.
9. A current Working with Children and Police Check.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
1. Minimum 12 months experience in the sector
2. Group, training or skill development skills and / or experience
3. Current driver’s license
