Design & Build are currently working in partnership with one of the fastest growing municipalities in Victoria who have an immediate requirement for a suitably qualified and highly motivated Technical Officer. Located in the south-western suburbs of Melbourne, this opportunity will allow you the chance to provide technical and administrative support to Council and the public on engineering issues.
Working within the Engineering Services Department, reporting to the Senior Technical Officer you will be tasked with the following duties:
• Maintain the Engineering Plan filing system, including issuing of plan numbers, filing of plans and ensuring plans are received from consultants.
• Assess and approve request for "Half Cost" fencing, inspect works and recommend payment.
• Develop and document minor design options, including cost estimates and specifications.
• Investigate public lighting faults and assess requests for new or additional public lighting.
• Investigate, assess and recommend applications for approval for building over easements and prepare, check and lodge standard Section 173 Agreements with the Title Office.
• Assess applications for Road Opening permits and vehicle crossings.
Requirements include:
• Relevant tertiary qualification with experience working within local government
• Victorian drivers licence
