Inventory / Purchasing Manager - People Equity (Melbourne / Eastern Suburbs)

Reporting directly to the National Supply Chain Manager, as part of the Inventory and Planning team, the Inventory/Purchasing Manager is responsible for fulfilling demand on the right mix of products to ensure the successful achievement of product and inventory related goals for the business. Your roles principle focus is to plan and execute the purchase of goods and services in line with the sales and promotional forecasts. You will be required to mentor and oversee a small team of Demand Planners, and take responsibility of their forecasting. You will be involved in cross functional initiatives and presentations to internal and external stakeholders and suppliers and will need to be comfortable in working as a broader team.
Here's what it's going to take:
• Be proven: You must have solid experience managing and taking ownership of the stock replenishment process from order placement to order receipt, from within a Retail (Wholesale/Distribution or FMCG) environment. It is not necessary to have been in a role within hardware, but you must have "volume and bulky" experience.
• Have prior experience working within a mid-sized, customer driven organisation where showing initiative, especially in the improving of internal process and procedures within the supply chain and inventory/planning function has been key.
• Highly capable: perform best when working within an ever-evolving and fast paced, growing environment.
• IT Savvy: have strong MS Excel skills (including formulas & V Lookups) and ideally some level of exposure to Pronto.
• Passionate & self-driven: Thrive in taking ownership and working in a proactive/forward thinking manner.
• Flexible and open-minded approach: Can flex to work with all levels and types of internal and external stakeholders.
