The role is required to provide Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Cluster Service infrastructure and administration skills.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialist SQL Server services for Upgrade Projects.
Provide technical advice as required for hardware and software configuration within the Department.
Provide 2nd/3rd level Support services for production SQL Servers.
In conjunction with managers, prioritise, analyse and complete tasks according to the nature and urgency of the request.
Provide technical advice as required on the hardware and software configuration.
Participate in resolver groups as part of the problem resolution process.
Ensure that the tasks and progressive action history are duly recorded and concluded to the client's satisfaction.
Participate as required in the project management process and endeavour to achieve client outcomes in the most effective way.
Skills Requirement:
5+ years' experience as a Microsoft SQL Server administrator supporting SQL Server 2008R2/2012 environments.
Ability to work with Transact SQL and SSIS.
5+ years general understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle and project management disciplines.
3+ years' experience in Administration using Windows operating systems 2003 and above.
Experience supporting Microsoft Clustering Services implementations.
Experience with Networking in areas such as DNS and DHCP.
Experience with VMware, Hyper-V or other Virtualization products.
Proven critical thinking and strong problem solving skills required.
Australian Citizens with minimum of NV1-NV2 security clearance required.
