The advantages are:

2) Your whole collection in one spot, No changing discs,
3) No DVD drive modification keeps your DVD drive in original condition if you wish.
4) You can update the device yourself, no need to pay someone to update the device for you! This is a big advantage over other type of mods as It means no ongoing costs and makes the device very easy to maintain.
6) User friendly and no soldering required.
7) Supports most USB file systems, including NTFS, FAT32, EXT2/3/4, and Mac OS X with a USB2 interface
8) Pass-through mode. (Use your Xbox 360 in "normal mode")
