Our large IT sector client is looking for experienced SAP Portal Consultant to join their highly performing team. This is a permanent opportunity.
The SAP Portal Consultant functions as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions The SAP Portal Consultant is responsible and directly accountable to the SAP Portfolio Delivery Manager via the SAP Technical Lead for the efficient, effective and timely delivery of SAP Portal related tasks, services and activities outlined in this position description.
Analysis and specification of functional and technical system problems and enhancements.
Perform current state analysis, define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design and prototype.
Testing, training, defining support procedures and implementation of these procedures
Produce proposals/estimates of scope of work
Progress the resolution of problems and development of enhancements in accordance to the agreed specification and standards.
Providing high level support and problem solve as required
Produce system and user documentation
Liaise with the team on problem/enhancements.
Continue to develop expertise in various technical and application areas to meet the various requirements of various SAP systems.
Ability to problem solve and undertake root cause analysis
Adhere to support team processes
Provide high level of customer service and technical delivery against performance levels (KRAs)
Participate in complex and technical problem solving primarily for support teams
Contribute to and facilitate team based culture.
Where necessary, “go above and beyond” to deliver and meet critical deadlines.
To be successful in the role you should have
5+ years experience with SAP Portal;
SAP skills across EP6 SP6 - Installation, - Database (Oracle / MS SQL Server), - Operating Systems (Windows 2000 / 2003, Unix, Linux) - Java Environment Setup, - Portal Install, ODBC/JDBC ,Java - Knowledge of Portal Developer Kit - iViews, eventing, Single Sign On, system connections - SAP GUIs (ITS, Java, Win), - Web Development skills (Java / Microsoft), XML, SAP WebDynpro - Add-ons - Knowledge Management - Content Management and (TREX) Searching - Collaboration - Portal Business Packages Security - Web (https) - SAP (SNC) - LDAP and/or Active Directory - SAP user management - SAP Role based security - Access Control Lists
Strong customer facing and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Strong analytical and judgment skills.
Experience with issue management
Successful candidates should have an active Baseline clearance or eligibilty to obtain and maintain a clearance.
