The Position
In light of this a market leading Development and Construction specialist based in Sydney have an immediate requirement for a Project Director to join their team. The company have been trading for over 50 years in New South Wales and their construction division regularly work on projects in excess of $100 million.
About the Role
You will have previously worked as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager who is pre-dominanlty construction based but also has a strong background when it comes to the financial and client aspects of the role. You will have experience within a first/second tier construction company environment within the Commerical and Hotel sector here in Australia. Reporting to the General Manager you will initially be working on a $70 million new build hotel in Sydney, manage an external builder in Queensland and coordintate the refurbishment of 5 existing hotels owner by the group in Sydnye and Melbourne. On going projects will consist of Hotel refurbishemnts, renovations and new builds. This individual needs to be approachable, able to pick up a phone and discuss and resolve disputes as opposed to relying on e-mails. Nothing quite matches a face to face meeting and building relationships with all stakeholders involved in the project.
Required Skills and Experience
Construction Mangement Degree or Equivalent Qualification
10+ Years experience in Project Managemnt (Commercial Sector)
Previous Exposure to working for a Tier 1/2 Builder Developer
A stable work record i.e. worked for the same company for 5 year's +
Have completed at least two $40 million plus projects as at least a Project Manager
