The SAP Innovation Center Network (https://icn.sap.com/home.html) is a strategic innovation entity within SAP, combining software engineering excellence with thought leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. We engage with SAP's most strategic customer base worldwide to help customers identify and realize breakthrough innovation using the solutions. As a Developer, you will work in a team of experienced developers, researchers, data scientists, designers, and business experts, taking on challenges posed by the SAP customers and product units. You will have the chance to work with the richest data sets available in the world addressing real-world problems. Your primary goal will be to cover various backend tasks for building innovative applications on SAP HANA / SAP HANA Cloud Platform, which requires solid understandings and excellent programing skills in databases, web applications, Big Data systems, and agile software development.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Working together with project leads, SAP HANA architects, UX designers, UI developers, data scientists, and business experts to build next-generation applications of business analytics on SAP HANA / SAP HANA Cloud Platform.
• Creating and optimizing information views of multi-billion records of customer data in SAP HANA or SAP HANA Cloud Platform.
• Optimizing the performance of query processing across large tables and views.
• Providing intelligent insight and analysis using predictive algorithms available in SAP HANA or R.
• Conducting ETL jobs using various tools like SAP Data Services and/or Python scripting.
• Developing UDFs using C++ for advanced algorithms and scientific data processing.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields

WORK EXPERIENCE / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Essential

• Demonstrate solid knowledge in databases, cloud, web application development,
• Prior experience working with HANA is not essential but would be considered a bonus
• Proven skills in database design, programing, modeling, optimization, and/or administration
• Excellent skills of programming and software prototyping in SQL, C++, Python, Java, and Javascript.

Desirable

• Experience in modeling (information views) and programming (SQL, SQL Script, L, R) in SAP HANA, or SAP HANA Cloud Platform
• Experience of working in an agile development team. Several projects full lifecycles.
• Data science skills: theories (machine learning, data mining, statistics) and tools (open-source libraries, SAP Predictive Analytics, R, MATLAB, Predictive Workbench/SPSS, SAS)
• Broad knowledge of data management: algorithm design and complexity analysis, solving optimisation problems and building heuristic methods to solve computationally complex and data-intensive problems.
• Relevant industry experience (Financial Services, Transportation & Logistics, Telecom, Retail, Oli&Gas, etc).
