Sunshine Coast Psychology Clinic is an established private clinic providing Psychology to primarily children and adolescents. We also provide counselling to adults and families, particularly to women suffering from perinatal anxiety and depression. We offer a range of evidence-based therapy methods and a varied service delivery model (individual and group clinic-based, home visits, school and community access options).

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Psychologist to join our team on a full -time basis. The position will be available in August/September 2016, starting at 2 days a week and increasing to 38 hours a week over the next few months as the client load builds. We would prefer to employ someone who is available to do early evening work, for example 11-7pm and fortnightly Saturday mornings.

As a Psychologist on our team you will provide assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults, as well as, support for parents.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Provision of individual therapy with clients who are dealing with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, OCD, behavioural problems, ASD, ADHD, etc
involvement in social skills, parenting groups etc
Assessment of children for various mental health conditions, cognition, Autism Spectrum Disorders (WIAT, WISC, CARS, Connors etc)
Report writing in relation to assessments & Medicare requirements
Ongoing liaison with our client’s management team (GP, teachers and other therapists)
Participation in team and meetings as required, as well as regular meetings with Principal Psychologist
Administration duties as required
Participation in projects and marketing the business to support business growth
Meetings and visits with major stakeholders
Presenting to schools as required


Selection Criteria for this position:

Essential

Qualifications:
Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA and management of own professional development
Registration with Medicare
Current Blue Card
Must have own Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance, and an ABN
Knowledge, Skill & Experience

Demonstrated skill in counselling and case management of children, adolescents, adults and families
Demonstrated skill and experience in providing Psychological interventions, particularly CBT
Strong ethical principals
Strong record management, report and case note taking skills
Demonstrated ability to engage clients effectively
Ability to manage caseload independently but collaboratively in team environment
Desirable

Sound computer literacy skills
Eligible for Australian Psychological Society Membership
Experience working with children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, social skills, ADHD, school refusal, behavioural problems
Experience in the areas of Mindfulness, Attachment Theory, ABA, Parenting and Circle of Security
