About the Role:
Working within a busy division within State Government, this position will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Project Support team that provides whole-of-group operational support on procurement, finance, human resources, administration, correspondence, communications and project management standards. Reporting to the Project Manager, your key duties will include:
Provide advice, direction and assistance to Project Managers on all requests and issues relating to procurement and purchasing activities, consulting or referring requests to Corporate Procurement when appropriate
Facilitating the end to end procurement process in conjunction with corporate procurement, ensuring all procurement documentation is prepared, tracked and progressed through the established departmental process to quality and timeliness standards.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of manual purchase requisitions, purchase order amendments and vendor creation for MPP projects
Work in partnership with the Senior Project Officer (Finance) to manage the accounts payable and receivable function for the Group in addition to ensuring the integrity of information contained in the MPP contracts register.
Work as part of a team, undertaking other finance, human resource and administrative functions as required, providing support for other team members as required
Actively participate in the DSD Procurement Network and keep MPP informed of changes in procurement strategy, policy and processes.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
Minimum 3+ experience in a similar role within a government environment
Strong ability to contribute to and work within a team environment
Well developed communication skills both verbal and written, coupled with the ability to provide advice with a customer service orientation
Strong ability to prioritize workload and work towards conflicting deadlines
